This mouse was actually worse than the Magic Mouse I was replacing to use with the Adobe software (which has known issues with the Adobe suite).I just returned the mouse to the store and have replaced it with a wired Microsoft Comfort Mouse which works great! The software, once configured set up the extra buttons how I liked them, but did nothing for the constant choppiness of the wireless connection and the horrible tracking. However, I soon realised that the fantastic tracking and smooth connectivity I was hoping for was just a pipe dream. No errors this time.I was initially happy it was working because I really wanted it too. The difference was that I clicked yes when the installer asked me to check for updates to the installer (strange since I just downloaded the most recent version from the website). So being the glutton for punishment that I am, I re-installed the Logitech mouse software. After hours of troubleshooting on my other laptop, I realised the only answer for me was to restore from backup. After getting my Mac back, I was convinced to try re-installing because another forum user had the same set up as me and the mouse was working fine for them. I couldn't believe something as simple as mouse software just broke my computer.

After powering down and up, Mac OS would not run, I was stuck at the Apple logo screen. It successfully installed and indicated that a restart was necessary. I ran the installer, I clicked through an error it gave me (more on that later).

I have given it the worst possible rating because the mouse was unusable for me and my configuration and I had to return it.There is nothing wrong with the hardware, and on a PC I'm sure this is a great product, but the little Mac compatible logo on the box was false advertising in my opinion. After buying the mouse, I went straight to the Logitech website to download the latest software for Mac OS 10.7.

This review is based on my experience using this mouse on a Macbook Pro running Mac OS 10.7. Such a short period of time made me to search the web to look if others were also experiencing the same problem. The quantity of posts of people experiencing the problem, and the replies from Logitech in some forums, made me understand that my faith was not just bad luck, this product seems to be designed to fail. It's really unfortunate that Logitech, after so many complaints about the phantom double-click issue, was not able to hear their customer and design something that actually works for at least 3 years (or at least do not present the same failure).I am really disappointed.I believe that engadget should add "Durability" as one of the rating attributes. This experience led me to believe I could try the same product again, and so I did. After buying my 2nd Anywhere MX mouse in May, 2013, I've started to experience the phantom double click issue again. At the time, I thought it was just an aging problem and I should just replace it. I've bought this product for the first time in 2010 and it has worked well until 2013, when it started to present the phantom double-click issue. I used to love Logitech products, but it seems that they are designing their products to fail in a short period of time. It's just annoying to have what appears to be a sufficient charge remaining and have the mouse suddenly acting weird.I still wouldn't trade it for any other mouse for my laptop though! I've had the best life from lithium batteries and it's not that they get eaten up fast. This happens even with the dongle literally less than a foot from the mouse with nothing in between.Putting in fresh batteries solves the problem. You will press and hold the button, but suddenly the game or windows will react as if you've let go of it. This is most noticeable in games where you have to hold a button down for zoomed aiming or when trying to drag stuff across multiple monitors. The only problem is that it's not only power hungry, but even when the battery indicator shows plenty of life, as soon as the batteries start getting a little low the buttons and tracking on the mouse will become prone to drop outs.

This has proven to be a very good mouse for my laptop, as it tracks on pretty much any surface I find myself in front of.
